7 Tips for Clean Eating In a Busy World

Does clean eating feel like a lovely concept but just not do-able in a busy world? I get it, the world is moving fast these days. Many companies have downsized leaving less employees to do more work which means more hours. We have families to take care, extra curricular activities, appointments to go to, the list goes on and on…

Eating clean perhaps feels like one of those nice to do things but just doesn’t seem possible. Well today I want to give you some tips on how you can strive to eat clean in a busy world.

1. Take a little time to sit down and put together a clean eating plan, a little planning will go a long way. What kinds of foods do you like? What are some of your favourite quick and easy simple recipes? Look in your cupboards and put together a grocery list of what you need in your pantry and fridge that will give you delicious and healthy meals for the week.

2. Pull out your calendar and create a meal plan. You may find that your breakfasts and maybe even lunches are fairly routine, these should be easy. Based on your pantry and grocery list pre-plan your meals so that when you get home after a long day you know exactly what you are going to cook and can get started right away. Ensure you have plenty of fresh groceries stocked up each week so you have no excuses to open that box of macaroni and cheese that has been sitting in the back of your cupboard.

3. Create a kitchen “prep” day. I like Sundays. This is the day where you can plan your meals for the week. If you have some extra time you might even pre-cook some meals and either freeze them or save them for the next couple of nights. Wash fruit and veggies, chop veggies and put them into serving sizes so they are ready to go. You can clean, marinate and freeze your meat ahead of time (don’t forget to label the date something goes into the freezer). Get any healthy snacks ready for the week etc… you get the idea. It’s really your time to get organized to make your busy week as easy as possible.

4. Use your crock pot. On your kitchen prep day, it’s easy to pre-prepare meals that you can throw into the crock pot. That way you can simply open a container, put everything into the crock pot then when you get home at the end of the day you have a healthy meal ready and waiting for you. How easy is that?

5. Get your snacks and lunches ready the night before so you aren’t rushing when you are trying to get the out the door in the morning.

6. If you grocery shop on a day other than your kitchen prep day wash your fruits and veggies immediately when you get home. This makes it easy to grab something healthy on the run.

7. Take a small cooler/lunch bag with you when you are on the go. Fill it with healthy snacks and any meals needed for the day. This will keep you from grabbing something quick and unhealthy.

So yes, clean eating will take a little extra work but if you take a little time each week to plan and prepare clean eating go from being a nice to have to just what you do every week. Get your family involved, make clean eating and healthy living a part of your lifestyle and create those healthy choices that will last a lifetime.

I promise your body will reward with more energy, less weight, brighter skin and many other benefits that will have you feeling fabulous.

So, get planning and enjoy clean eating in your busy world made easy.

To your health!

How Climbing a Mountain Can Prepare You for the Business World

Climbing a mountain can be a soul enriching journey. It provides you with the opportunity to reach a main goal, whilst constantly being faced with obstacles. This is why climbing a mountain can prepare you for the business world. This is not a figurative statement. Climbing a mountain could literally be the boost that you need in order to face and conquer the business world.

Working in business can be extremely tough, especially if you have decided to go down the route of becoming an entrepreneur. You constantly have to fight a battle to make it work. Sometimes you will have good days and other days you will struggle to breathe as a result of the pressure. Summiting a mountain can help you to understand how to face these problems head on. During the climb, you will be faced with many obstacles, most of which have been brought about by your own brain.

The actual climb is a simple task. In reality, all that you have to do is walk. However, walking for long hours at a high altitude can begin to play tricks on your mind. You might start to feel as though you cannot push yourself to reach the next camp and that it is too difficult – which is exactly how it can feel in the business world! Just as you think you have everything under control, you lose faith. You need to know how to push yourself through these situations if you ever want to make a success of yourself. Once you have been able to conquer a challenging climb, you will find the strength to push through even the most difficult of tasks.

Here are some aspects that can be utilized in the business world that you will either experience or need to work through while conquering your climb:

  • Preparation: you cannot just climb mountains on a whim. Similarly, you cannot walk into a meeting or set up a business if you are unprepared. You need to have a strong foundation and feel totally ready for what is to come. Having a solid support system will help you through both of these scenarios.
  • Sensibility: you cannot take unnecessary risks in business – and the same can be said on top of a mountain. Sometimes you will have to make decisions on the spur of the moment, but you will still need to have your wits about you. Don’t put yourself in situations that could be detrimental in the long run.
  • Commitment: once you have decided to take on this journey, there is no turning back. You will have to find the strength to continue up the mountain regardless of how tired and stiff you are. In business, you need to commit to what you want to achieve in the long run, never give up and always have an end goal to keep you motivated.
  • Have a good team: sometimes, in life, you need the assistance of a team. This is important in both business and mountaineering. Having the support of a team will help you to push through and keep you safe. You need to know that you can trust the people who you choose to surround yourself with.

Beginners Journey Into the Business World

I’ve learned a lot of what I know through my own mistakes, and an equal amount from observing the mistakes of others. Perhaps the best mistake I’ve made was diving head first into the business world as a young man. While the expression “learning things the hard way” has always held true for me, it is by this that I have laid a foundation for myself, and my business ventures.

I often find myself wondering if I made an appropriate business decision, whether in regards to simple things like taking a sick day, or life-changing decisions such as quitting one job for another. I have often acted impulsively in such decisions, but my judgment to base my impulses on is something I have finely tuned. Unfortunately not everyone has good judgment, so impulsive business behavior is probably not a good idea. Either way I have determined that my judgment is based on two things I know to be true about the business world:

1. You may have a hundred competitors in whatever you’re doing, but your biggest competitor is yourself; if you don’t get out of your own way you will never accomplish anything. This is the most important factor in your success in the business world. What this means is that when you have a great idea, it doesn’t matter how great it is if you don’t implement it. If you don’t get the ball rolling no one will do it for you.

2. Opportunity exists everywhere you can possibly look. If you’re struggling trying to determine the best product to sell quit struggling and look around you; Everything is a product! And ALL products sell, which means you can make money with any one of them. If you can’t find your next lead, or make your next sale you need to get out of your chair and go get it, because it you won’t find it sitting around.

There Are No Miracles in the Business World, Just Hard Work!

If “Murphy” is the best friend of business world, then on the other hand miracles and business world are total strangers. Viral marketing is for example one of those things where business owners are awaiting miracles to happen on their business path. We do, however need a bit of luck to succeed in our business.

But it would be naive from us to expect that there are miracles going to happen on our business path. Everything that has been created and achieved in the business world and can be classified as big and important now days, is a result of decades of hard work, difficult decisions, endurance, courage and nothing else. Nothing exceptional in the business world has ever happened by itself.

Let’s have a look at the previous example of viral marketing. Many business owners have written in their business plan that they will build a web site, have it listed as new and then people will just start coming and visiting the site just because it is that great and attractive. And the reason for that will be viral marketing, because the application is so easy to use it will spread by itself like a virus.

This kind of thinking will only result as total failure and the only virus we can expect is the one that will bury our business. Let’s take as an example my blog. To increase the traffic to my blog, I have to create articles that are good enough to attract people to read them and then visit my blog to find out even more. But the thing is that articles will not write themselves, instead we need to take the time to write them. Ideas, as what to write about, can be found everywhere, but to actually write an article is something totally different. It takes quite some time and also a lot of intellectual input.

If we stop writing, then the traffic will also stop coming. On the other hand if we would want more traffic, then we would have to be even more productive. We would have to start participating and posting to forums, write compelling and diverse articles and sometimes touch on topics that are controversial.

But the thing that is really of importance here is that nothing happens because of miracle. The visitors to our blog or website don’t come by themselves. Everything we do requires input. Input of our energy, knowledge, experience and so on. But we shouldn’t forget one important thing here and that is that we have to always strive to work smarter not harder! Things can always be easy and logical, but never magical when it comes down to business.

Entrepreneurs, when they start to incorporate a business, many times expect miracles to happen, because they are too optimistic. They think they can convince the investor just because they will not have it any other way. “I will create a website and the sales will come automatically”. “I have the right strategy”, they say to themselves. And they await the “magic” to happen. This kind of thinking is the sure way to failure!

We have to realize one thing, to get a lot of customers or traffic, we have to invest a lot of time and energy to achieve our goals. We have to prevail for three to five years for brick and mortar company to succeed. This estimation has been made by the experts through analysis. Until then there is a lot of hard work ahead for every entrepreneur who starts his business from scratch.
